Course Description

Physics 233B is an on-line calculus-based physics course. (PHY 231B plus PHY
233B is equivalent to PHY 183B.) Topics include: kinematics, Newtonian
dynamics, momentum and energy conservation, rotational motion, gravity,
oscillatory motion, wave motion and sound.

Prerequisites

(PHY 231 or PHY 231B) and MTH 132.

Helproom Hours

Strosacker Learning Center, room 1248 BPS. (Due to the remodeling of the
Learning Center, room 1240 BPS will also be used as a helproom. The sign
on the door of the Learning Center will always clearly tell where the
helproom is.)

Tuesday: 1:00 - 4:00 PM, 6:00 - 9:00 PM,
Wednesday: 1:00 - 4:00 PM, 6:00 - 9:00 PM,
Thursday: 9:00 AM - noon, 1:00 - 4:00 PM 6:00 - 9:00 PM.

Exam Information

Exam #1: June 15, Wednesday, 6-7 PM, Room 1410 BPS,
Exam #2: July 06, Wednesday, 6-7 PM, Room 1410 BPS,
Exam #3: July 27, Wednesday, 6-7 PM, Room 1410 BPS.
(There is no Final Exam.)

On the exams a one-sided 8.5 by 11 handwritten help sheet is allowed.

Bring a calculator and two sharp #2 (HB) pencils to each exam.

Grading Information

Percent weights:
Homework: 25%,
Midterm Exams: 3 x 25% = 75%.
(There is no Final Exam.)

Grade table:
4.0 >= 90%,
3.5 >= 81%,
3.0 >= 72%,
2.5 >= 63%,
